Prerequisite Requirements

Prerequisite Courses

  • Human Anatomy: 3 credits with lab REQUIRED*
  • Human Physiology: 3 credits with lab preferred*
    • *OR Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 with lab REQUIRED
  • Chemistry: 4 credits with lab REQUIRED
  • Biology or Exercise Science: 4 credits with lab REQUIRED
    • (Upper-level course of 300 or 3000 level preferred)
  • Physics: 8 credits with lab REQUIRED
  • Psychology: 6 credits (at least 3 credits at 200 or 2000 level or higher)
    • (Ex. developmental, abnormal, biological, cognitive, etc.)
  • Statistics: 3 credits

Prerequisite Coursework

  • Recommend completed within 10 years prior to application deadline
  • Recommend at least 4 prerequisite courses be completed at the time of application submission
  • Recommend no more than 2 outstanding prerequisite courses in summer semester prior to a start in Fall
  • All coursework MUST be completed prior to enrollment in the DPT program
  • Prerequisite courses MUST be completed with a C or above (C- or lower will NOT be accepted)
  • Prerequisite courses retaken will have the highest grade calculated for the Prerequisite GPA
  • Pass/Fail credit for courses are accepted but will NOT be calculated into GPAs

Nontraditional Credits

Accept nontraditional credit including AP, CLEP, IB, etc. in lieu of prerequisite course if previously accepted by a regionally accredited college/university.
