Admission Requirements

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Regionally Accredited Program
  • GPAs: Cumulative, Last 60 Hours, and Prerequisite 
    • Recommend 3.00 or higher (on 4.00 scale) 
    • Preferred 3.20 or higher (on 4.00 scale) 
  • Reference Letters in PTCAS
    • Submit 2 reference letters to PTCAS REQUIRED
      • One professional letter MUST be from a PT
      • Second professional letter can be from a PT, professor, pastor, coach, or supervisor
      • Personal letters from family or friend will NOT be accepted
  • Resume in PTCAS (highly recommended)
  • Observation Hours in PTCAS (highly recommended)
    • 50 PT volunteer/employment observation hours preferred
    • Prefer a minimum of 8 hours in two different settings (acute, outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing facility, home health, etc.)
  • Up to 2 Interviews (See “Admissions Procedures”)
    • Kira Virtual Interview
    • Final Faculty Virtual
  • GRE is NOT required 
  • Students whose first language is not English must submit official results of either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) directly from the corporation to OBU (institution code: 6541) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
    • A minimum score on the TOEFL iBT exam
      • 550 on the paper-based test
      • 213 on the computer-based test or
      • 80 on the internet-based test.
    • A minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS exam
  • Willingness to complete background check, drug screen, and provide proof of immunizations and other health requirements for clinical experience placements if accepted into the program
  • Applicants must acknowledge that they can meet, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential standards and functions as outlined in the DPT Student Handbook.
