Introducing the RAWC and Bison RecWell
Bison Recreation and Wellness exists to “Engage, Encourage, Educate, and Equip our OBU Bison community towards Christ-like wellness in the areas of physical, social, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.”
This mission is accomplished through the department's three main program areas: wellness, recreation, and competitive sports. Bison RecWell provides seamless guest services to OBU students, faculty, staff, and the Bison community.
Bison Recreation and Wellness oversees the RAWC (Recreation and Wellness Center). This 59,500 square foot building includes a full-service fitness center, strength training room, student leisure recreation lobby and seating area, 3 full-size hardwood basketball courts, an elevated track (1/10th mile lap), 29-foot indoor climbing wall, 2 racquetball courts, showers and locker rooms.
The newest addition to the RAWC is the Brant and Leslie Hill Bison Esports Arena. This fully-dedicated space features gaming PCs arranged for five-on-five team play with modern equipment and apparatus. A lounge is also part of this new arena.
The RAWC serves over 2,800 members within the OBU community and hosts multiple sports tournaments, climbing competitions and campus and community events. The Recreation and Wellness Center is home to OBU's Intramural and Club Sports programs and facilitates the use of the OBU intramural fields, disc golf course, outdoor sand volleyball courts, and tennis complex.
