GO Trip Parents and Guardians

Hello,

My name is Melissa Stroud and I am the Director of Mobilization for the Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach at Oklahoma Baptist University. I am excited about your son/daughter's interest in participating in a Global Outreach trip. My entire staff and I are praying fervently for the Most High's direction, provision, and protection as we plan, prepare, train, lead, and send out Global Outreach trips. I believe God works in and through us, as we are faithful to serve Him!

Naturally, you may have some concerns and questions about traveling domestically or internationally. It is our aim to alleviate and eliminate as many potential risks as possible for our students as they travel. We desire to see students serving in Global Outreach trips grow in their spiritual journey, have a great experience while on the trip, and return safely with a changed heart directed toward service and the Nations.

We are constantly monitoring locations where we send our students and will continue to work with our partners to determine the best strategies for Global Outreach trips. OBU has a strong network of partners working locally and around the world. I and my staff also have extensive international experience. This being said, sometimes, things do happen that we cannot plan for or prevent. As a result, we want to ensure that you are fully aware of your son/daughter's participation and have talked through these potential risks with him/her.
