Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships and grants are awarded to students based on their academic achievement. The awards are not based on financial need and are renewable provided the student maintains a 2.0 College GPA.

Full-Tuition Academic Scholarships

University Scholar

These full-tuition scholarships are made to incoming full-time freshman. Students must have at least a 29 ACT or 1330 SAT or 89 CLT with a 3.5 high school GPA to apply.

University Scholar Information

Allen Academic Scholar

This full-tuition scholarship is awarded to a student from Western Oklahoma who has at least a 27 ACT or 1270 SAT or 84 CLT and a 3.5 GPA.

Martin Academic Scholar

This full-tuition scholarship is awarded to an Oklahoma resident Choctaw student who is recognized by the Choctaw Nation as being Choctaw with at least a 25 ACT or 1190 SAT or 78 CLT and a 3.0 GPA.

Oklahoma Regents Academic Scholars Program

The Academic Scholars Program, established by the state Legislature and governor in 1988 and operated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, provides scholarships to academically outstanding students who attend an Oklahoma college or university. Academic Scholars receive a $4,500 scholarship to help cover the cost of room, board, tuition, books and incidental fees for up to eight semesters. To qualify for the scholarship, students must first be an Oklahoma Resident and a National Merit Scholar or be an Oklahoma resident and achieve an ACT or SAT composite scores in the 99.5 to 100th percentile.

Need-Based Scholarships and Grants

OBU Bison Grants or OBU Endowed Scholarships: $2,000 +

Need-based grants awarded based on unmet demonstrated need and other financial aid student is receiving. All students automatically qualify for $2,000. File your FAFSA to find out if you qualify for even more! 

FAFSA Completion Scholarship: $1,000

Students who submit a valid 2025-26 FAFSA to OBU before February 1, 2025 will be eligible to receive $1,000 regardless of need. 

Allen Scholarships: $1,000 to $5000

Need-based scholarships awarded to students from Western Oklahoma based on unmet demonstrated need and other financial aid student is receiving.

Martin Scholarships: $1,000 to $5000

Need-based scholarships awarded to Oklahoma resident Choctaw students recognized by the Choctaw Nation as being Choctaw based on unmet demonstrated need and other financial aid student is receiving.

Bison Pact Scholarship

Do you qualify for Oklahoma’s Promise? If so, you can qualify for the Bison Pact, which will cover tuition and general fees once other scholarships and aid are applied.

Multicultural Scholarship: $1,000

The multicultural scholarship recognizes underrepresented undergraduate students. Apply for admission to find out if you're eligible! 

Bison Bound: Amounts Vary

Incoming students who complete an official campus visit through the Office of Admissions by Feb. 1, 2025, will receive $1,000 for visiting from a location within Oklahoma or $2,000 for visiting from a location outside of Oklahoma. 

Out-Of-State Scholarship: $2,000

To help offset the lack of state grant funding for our out-of-state students, all non-resident students qualify for an automatic $2,000. 

Air Force ROTC Dorm Room Scholarship

This scholarship is for recipients of Air Force ROTC Type I or Type II Scholarships who are active in OBU's cross-town ROTC program at OU. Scholarship covers OBU room charges (does not apply to private room charges). Present documentation of ROTC participation to your Student Financial Services counselor in order to receive the scholarship.

OBU Engineering Scholarship

Oklahoma Baptist University students enrolling in the University’s new engineering program will receive a $3,000 scholarship, beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year. Students must be admitted to the University and pursuing a major of mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. 


Scholarships listed are applicable for traditional undergraduate students entering OBU for the first time during the 2025-2026 academic year. Students must enroll full-time to qualify. Some scholarships may not be applicable for student athletes, full-tuition scholarship recipients, or students currently receiving the employee education benefit. Fully online students are not eligible.
