FREE tuition and general student fees for qualifying first-time freshmen and transfer students
Do you qualify for Oklahoma’s Promise?
If so, a private Christian education is more affordable than ever with the Bison Pact.
For the Melton family of Ponca City, the Bison Pact is not just a financial lifeline; it's a testament to the power of affordable, Christ-centered education. Watch the video above to hear about how the Bison Pact opened doors for their son to attend OBU.
How does the Bison Pact work?
If you qualify for Oklahoma’s Promise and complete the steps below, we will cover the remaining tuition and general student fees after other state, federal and OBU aid have been applied.
Apply to OBU
The first step is the easiest—just fill out the application for admission to OBU. Don't forget to submit your high school transcript and test scores after you’ve filled out the application.
Be Admitted
Remember those documents and test scores we just mentioned? They’re important to make sure you can be admitted to OBU. Keep an eye on your email and make sure to respond to your admissions counselor if they need more information from you.
File Your FAFSA
Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to see if you qualify for more financial assistance. Even if you don’t think you’ll qualify, complete it anyway and make sure you send the results to us. This last step secures your eligibility for the Bison Pact and lets us put together a package just for you.
Are there any other requirements?
Each year you’ll need to file the FAFSA to maintain your eligibility.
This offer is only available to first-time freshmen and transfer students for Fall 2024 and beyond who are eligible to receive Oklahoma's Promise.
Additional Requirements
- Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress and file a FAFSA each year.
- Aid is based on full-time enrollment of 15 hours per semester. Due to Oklahoma's Promise being a per hour scholarship, students enrolling in fewer than 15 hours will receive a reduced amount.
- OBU will cover tuition and general fees. (General fees include student services, technology and student life fees.)
- Aid is provided for Fall and Spring semesters only.
- The Bison Pact is available beginning Fall 2024 for first-time freshmen and transfer students.
- Athletes are not eligible for the Bison Pact if they are receiving athletic aid.
- The Bison Pact guarantees full tuition and general fees your first year of attendance. Your institutional scholarships will remain the same, up to eight semesters, as long as you qualify for the Bison Pact.
The Bison Pact is what's known as a “last-dollar” scholarship, which means it is applied after all other scholarship and grant aid. There may be instances where a student would not receive Bison Pact funds, if their other scholarships and aid already exceed the amount of tuition and general fees.
