Grow in Christ. Grow in Community.

At OBU, you will grow through both knowledge and faith to become the person God designed you to be. You’ll experience a vibrant spiritual life on Bison Hill through biblical teaching, discipleship, and authentic community in your everyday rhythms.

Small Groups

Through intentional small groups, students gather regularly for discipleship, accountability and spiritual growth. These environments foster meaningful relationships and provide practical tools for living out faith in everyday life.

Four young women, all wearing different shades of pink shirts and sweatshirts, sit around a metal table in a bright room with large windows. They are smiling and laughing while studying together, with open Bibles and notebooks spread out on the table.

Delight Ministries

Delight Ministries offers women a place to truly belong — a safe and joyful environment to grow in faith and be known as God’s unique creation. It’s a space where friendships deepen, community flourishes, and hearts are encouraged.

Two young men are seated on a grey sofa during a group meeting. The man on the left wears a light green polo shirt and holds an open Bible, while the man on the right wears a navy blue T-shirt with a white cross emblem and is looking toward someone off-camera.

BetterMan

BetterMan is a small group discipleship program designed to equip men to live faithfully as leaders, protectors, servants and followers of Christ. Through biblical instruction, discussion and accountability, men are challenged to take meaningful next steps in their faith journey.

Three students sit in a circle of chairs in a room with wood-paneled walls. They each have an open Bible on their lap and are smiling and laughing together during a group discussion. One student wears a grey "Bison" T-shirt.

Practicing the Way

Practicing the Way is a discipleship series that challenges students to grow in Christlikeness by learning how to be with Jesus, become like Him and do as He did. Through spiritual disciplines and weekly community gatherings, students experience transformation in both heart and habit.

A young woman with long dark hair smiles and speaks during a small group study. She is seated at a white table with an open book in front of her, engaged in conversation with others who are partially visible.

MasterLife

MasterLife is a 12-session discipleship experience focused on your relationship with God, yourself, others and the world. Through personal study and group discussion, students are encouraged to live “all of life, all for Jesus.” MasterLife provides practical tools for following Christ in every area of life surrounded by others who share that same commitment.

Dorm Bible Studies

Dorm Bible studies create a meaningful community right where you live. These gatherings allow students to process Scripture together, support one another and live out their faith in real time. In residence halls across campus, faith becomes part of everyday conversation and encouragement.

“As a new freshman, I was so happy to join a discipleship group with other students. It was focused on practicing spiritual disciplines to live more like Jesus. I met weekly and built strong relationships with others. We kept each other accountable in our disciplines through love and encouragement. I learned striving to live more like Jesus is easier in community.”

Canterbury

Canterbury is a long-standing, student-led worship gathering at OBU that has shaped the hearts of generations on Bison Hill through authentic community and meaningful encounters with God. Held bi-weekly, this sacred time invites students to pause, reflect, and lift their voices in praise within a setting marked by reverence, vulnerability, and mutual prayer.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) equips and empowers coaches and athletes to grow in their Christian walk through Bible study and fellowship. FCA members seek to integrate faith and sport — representing Christ both on campus and in the community.

Student Ministry Team

Each year, student leaders serve alongside the Director of Student Ministry to cultivate a Christ-centered culture on campus. Together, they encourage authentic community, deep spiritual growth and a strong sense of belonging and purpose.

Meet Current Student Judah Motley

“Canterbury is a time to kneel before God and be completely vulnerable and open. It is a time of honest, full worship and prayer, and a time to bring your struggles to the surface; to present them before God and to be supported by the community.”
