The life-changing growth that transpires through Hobbs College prepares you for ministry, whether proclaiming the word of God through preaching, counseling or other avenues of loving and serving others. Opportunities to serve at local and regional church congregations are a significant part of preparation and equipping for ministry.
Ministry Alliance
OBU's formation of a student-led Ministry Alliance is specifically designed to inform, educate and equip students as they prepare for ministry. By attending weekly meetings, they deepen their understanding through practical application of ministry experiences.
Students fulfill their calling by loving and serving in the church and in the community together. This strong collaboration of ministry-minded students offers a foundational support in your personal and spiritual growth.
Internships and Field Experiences
As an OBU ministry student, you are presented with many ways to develop your skills through internships and field experiences. This is your opportunity to live out what is placed in your heart as you love and serve others.
Ongoing relationships with local pastors and congregations provide avenues to preach, lead worship, and serve in local and regional church settings.
The Hobbs faculty is dedicated to helping you experience ministry outside the classroom. We realize that offering these valuable field experiences deepens your love for others, your heart for service and your impact in areas of need.
The many opportunities for our students to engage in field experiences is based on our foundation of being biblically-rooted, theologically-faithful and practically-relevant. Theological truths and spiritual formation is manifested outside the walls of our classrooms as students learn, in practice, to serve and minister to others.
