STEM Day Draws High School Students To OBU Campus
October 1, 2025
OBU hosted STEM Day 2025 on Sept. 30, welcoming high school students to campus for a day of hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
About 600 participants attended the event, which featured breakout sessions on topics such as science, engineering and health. Students and teachers also had access to sessions tailored to their specific interests.
The program began with registration at the OBU Recreation and Wellness Center, followed by specialized breakout sessions designed to expand students’ understanding of STEM fields and spark lasting interest in related careers.
“We are so thankful that so many schools partnered with OBU faculty, staff and students to invest in the STEM exposure of local high school students,” said Dr. Contessa Edgar, chair of the OBU Division of Science. “Experiences like this can leave a lasting mark on young minds as they consider their future in STEM careers.”
The event provided an opportunity for students in grades 9–12 to explore potential academic and career paths while engaging with OBU faculty and facilities.
