Heartland Worship Conference Brings Ministry Leaders Together
October 1, 2025
The 2025 Heartland Worship Conference, sponsored by OBU, brought worship leaders, pastors and musicians together September 26–27 at Together We Church in Yukon for two days of teaching, music and training.
The event featured nationally recognized speakers, breakout sessions and times of worship.
Main sessions included teaching and leadership from Matt Roberson, conference visionary, lead pastor of Connection Church in Marlow and director of worship studies at OBU. Roberson previously served 17 years as a worship pastor and continues to lead worship nationally.
Other speakers included Cody Dunbar, worship and creative pastor at Together We Church; Charlie Hall, worship and liturgy pastor at Frontline Church in Oklahoma City; Robbie Seay, executive vice president of leader development and content for The Worship Initiative in Dallas; Matt Boswell, pastor of The Trails Church in Texas and professor at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and Marshall Hall, worship pastor at Northland Church in Florida and former member of the Gaither Vocal Band.
Breakout sessions focused on practical skills and leadership development for worship ministry, including audio production, acoustic guitar, worship keys, music directing, vocal engagement and more. A session titled “Called Up: Exploring Worship Ministry” was offered for high school students interested in pursuing worship ministry as a calling or career.
The conference also included a Friday evening Night of Worship, multiple Saturday breakout sessions and a closing worship service.
"There’s no way to describe the feeling I get when worship leaders and teams come together to humble themselves, learn from one another and worship together,” Roberson said. "I am so thankful for the time taken by each of these leaders to come, to bring their teams and to invest in Heartland 2025. The Holy Spirit was in our midst, guiding, convicting, teaching and comforting. I look forward to this being a regular dietary supplement for all worship leaders and teams in the Midwest - it’s worth the effort. Come see us at Heartland 2026, September 25-26 at Together We Church, Yukon."
