Public Meeting Scheduled for OBU Master’s Program in Speech-Language Pathology

July 11, 2025

A public meeting for the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) program at Oklahoma Baptist University is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025.

The meeting will take place from 5 to 5:30 p.m. in room 214 of Stavros Hall on the OBU campus in Shawnee. It is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends of the university and members of the public.

OBU’s MS-SLP program will provide exceptional, Christ-centered preparation for those called to serve others through the prevention, assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. OBU’s experienced faculty combine professional expertise with personal mentorship, creating a learning environment that emphasizes spiritual growth, servant leadership and academic excellence.

Rooted in Christian values, this program will integrate innovative coursework, hands-on clinical training and service-learning experiences to prepare individuals for a meaningful career as a speech-language pathologist.

In just 16 months, students will complete an accelerated hybrid curriculum that blends online coursework with immersive on-campus residencies and clinical externships in a student’s own community. This flexible format equips individuals to grow both personally and professionally as they meet the needs of individuals across the lifespan with compassion, competence and a commitment to Christ-centered care.

The meeting provides an opportunity for attendees to address the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) regarding the MS-SLP program’s application for candidacy accreditation status. A virtual attendance option is available via Zoom. To receive a link, interested parties should contact the program at slp@okbu.edu.

Written comments may also be submitted to the CAA by mail, email or fax. Comments must be received no later than Aug. 31, 2025. Submissions must be signed and include the commenter’s name, address, phone number and relationship to the program. Comments must relate to the program’s compliance with the Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
