Mullins Joins OBU as Associate Professor of English

OBU welcomes Dr. Matthew Mullins as its newest addition to the academic roster. Mullins, who comes to OBU from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, will serve as an associate professor of English beginning August 1, 2024.
Having previously served as associate professor of English and History of Ideas at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Mullins brings a wealth of experience and expertise to OBU. His instructional expertise spans literature, literary theory, and writing, with a research focus squarely centered on American literature, culture, and hermeneutics. Mullins received the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2015, a testament to his academic dedication and proficiency.
"We are delighted to have Dr. Matt Mullins join us on Bison Hill as associate professor of English,” said Dr. Matthew Emerson, OBU co-provost and dean of theology, arts, and humanities. “He brings a wealth of experience; a strong commitment to Christ, his church and his family; and a heart for students. Dr. Mullins will help us continue to equip students to live all of life, all for Jesus."
Mullins has a Bachelor of Arts from The College at Southeastern, a Master of Arts from North Carolina State University, and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
