Gilbert to Speak at OBU Business Forum Mar. 27
March 23, 2023
OBU alumnus Brandon Gilbert, Enterprise Territory Manager at Tenable, will be the featured speaker during OBU’s next Business Forum Monday, March 27. His lecture will be titled “Reverse Timelines: Work Backward Before Stepping Forward.”
The event is hosted by the Paul Dickinson School of Business and will take place at 10 a.m. in the Tulsa Royalties Auditorium inside Bailey Business Center.
Gilbert received his bachelor's degree in strategic communications from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2011, and his master's degree in Organizational Communications from Dallas Baptist University in 2014. He has worked in the cybersecurity industry for over a decade.
Outside of work, Gilbert and his wife Jackie (OBU class of 2010) currently reside near St. Louis, Missouri, and have three children, Caleb, Claire, and Carson. Gilbert serves as a high school student mentor and a deacon at their home church and is currently serving on the Board of Executives of OBU's Paul Dickinson School of Business.
The purpose of this forum is to provoke internal thought about having intentionality with decisions today and inspire people to be more aware that there are many things they can do now to position themselves for who they'd like to become.
Gilbert said, “It's easy to take college day by day, and focus on just finishing this semester with little thought regarding what happens afterward. Honestly -- it's easy to do that even as an adult once a person settles into a career and a regular lifestyle. But is that lifestyle where they intended to end up? Or did life just happen to them? There are thoughts, conversations, and facts about oneself that can be captured now to give someone a better perspective on where they're headed tomorrow. Leveraging a Reverse Timeline is a great way to do that.”
Dr. David Houghton, chair of the Dickinson School of Business at OBU, is looking forward to welcoming Gilbert for the Business Forum.
“The Business Forums at OBU provide an excellent platform where our students can learn from industry experts,” he said. “Brandon Gilbert certainly fits that profile. It’s even more exciting that this forum expert is also one of our own alumni.”
