OBU Harvest Court Candidates Announced

The 2022 OBU Harvest Court candidates were recently announced. The 18 senior men and women will be recognized during the annual Harvest Court ceremony, Saturday, Oct. 15 at halftime of the Bison football game against East Central University. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. inside Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex. The game is part of The Weekend, OBU’s homecoming celebration.

Members of the Harvest Court were each nominated by their peers in six categories. Those categories include Most Servant-Like Man, Most Servant-Like Woman, Best All-Around Man, Best All-Around Woman, Harvest King and Harvest Queen. Winners are determined by a student body vote.

The crowning of the Harvest Queen is a longstanding OBU tradition, dating back to 1920. The first Harvest King was crowned in 1996. Later, the categories of Most Servant-Like Man and Woman and Best All-Around Man and Woman were added.

The 2022 nominees for Harvest Queen include Grace Vernon, an elementary education and women’s ministry double major from Harrah, Oklahoma; Paige Witt, an elementary education major from Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Emma Brockman, a biology major from Ozark, Missouri.

The 2022 nominees for Harvest King include Micah Compton, a global marketplace engagement, TESOL emphasis major from Shawnee, Oklahoma; Noah Sanders, an exercise science: sports & recreation major from Owasso, Oklahoma, and Doron Williams, a business management major from North Richland Hills, Texas.

Nominees for the 2022 Most Servant-Like Man are Maurice McMullen, a physics major with a math minor from Jenks, Oklahoma; Caleb Griffin, a nursing major from Edmond, Oklahoma, and Dillon Dunk, a double major in biblical studies and pastoral ministry from Seattle, Washington.

Nominees for the 2022 Most Servant-Like Woman are Brittany Freeman, a nursing major from Newcastle, Oklahoma; Maddi McDonald, an exercise science major from Frisco, Texas, and Bailee Brown, a women’s ministry major with a minor in natural science from Corn, Oklahoma.

All-Around Man Nominees for 2022 are Peyton Byrd, an exercise science: pre-allied health major from Salina, Oklahoma; Hayden Cunningham, a global marketplace major with a business emphasis from Amarillo, Texas, and Trevor Evans, a business administration: marketing major from Snyder, Oklahoma.

All-Around Woman Nominees for 2022 are Reagan Benton, a nursing major with a minor in cross cultural ministry from Elk City, Oklahoma; Audrey Branham, a nursing major from Istanbul, Turkey, and Masey White, a professional accountancy major from Edmond, Oklahoma.

These students will also be honored during a special Harvest Court dinner the evening of Oct. 14. During the event, the nominees will celebrate with family, friends, faculty and staff, as they are recognized for their accomplishments and involvement on campus during their time on Bison Hill.
