Jennifer Watson to Perform in Voice Recital Oct. 25

Jennifer Watson, mezzo-soprano, will return to Oklahoma Baptist University to perform a solo vocal recital Tuesday, Oct 25. at 7 p.m. The recital will be held in Raley Chapel’s Yarborough Auditorium on the OBU campus in Shawnee as part of the Division of Music 2022-2023 Artist Series. Bringing the best in the musical arts to the campus and Shawnee community, the Artist Series features national and international artists, brought together through the generous funding of the Max Brattin Endowment. The performance is free and the public is invited.
Watson is a graduate of OBU, where she premiered the role of Harmony Bridgman in Dr. James Vernon’s “A Porcelain Doll.” She also attended Boston Conservatory at Berklee. She was a soloist in the Peabody Square Choral Artist’s portrayal of Duruflé’s “Requiem” and has joined the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and Boston Symphony Orchestra in their 2019 concert of the Shostakovich Symphony No. 2 “October” and Ravel’s “Daphnis et Chloé.” In the summer of 2022, Watson joined the Chicago Summer Opera program for their production of “Cendrillon” as the cover for “Prince Charming.”
Watson is currently an adjunct professor of voice at OBU and Rose State College. She is actively performing throughout the area and will participate in the Painted Sky Opera’s “Carmen” chorus and the Tulsa Opera’s chorus in “Aida.”
