Dr. Andy Taylor to Speak at Bison Connections Event June 9 in Bixby

Dr. Andy Taylor, regional ministry partner for east-central Oklahoma for Oklahoma Baptists, will deliver the keynote speech during OBU’s next Bison Connections event June 9 in Bixby. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at Evergreen Church, located at 10301 East 111th St. S. in Bixby, Oklahoma. Registration is now open online. The event is free and dinner is included.
Bison Connections connects OBU administrators, staff and faculty with alumni, friends of the University and members of the business community. The event includes a free meal for those in attendance, updates about things happening on Bison Hill, and a keynote speaker to motivate and inspire those in attendance. The events are held on a regular basis in Oklahoma City and the first Bison Connections in the Tulsa area was held in September 2021.
Dr. Andy Taylor recently began his role as regional ministry partner for east-central Oklahoma for Oklahoma Baptists, serving on the church relations group. He previously served since 2015 as senior pastor of Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. His 30-plus years of ministry include serving as senior pastor at Ponca City, First, and Chickasha, Trinity. He also served on staff at Moore, Regency Park, and a church plant in Texas.
He served in the United States Army for 21 years, retiring in 2015. In addition to three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, for which he earned three Bronze Star medals, he also completed assignments with the 82nd Airborne Division, 12th Special Forces Group, the Oklahoma National Guard and Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. He served for more than eight years as a full-time U.S. Army chaplain and also served as deputy senior U.S. Army chaplain at Arlington National Cemetery.
Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in religion with a Bible emphasis from OBU. He then completed a Master of Divinity in biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He later received a graduate certificate in Christian apologetics from Biola University and earned a Doctor of Ministry in expository preaching from The Master’s Seminary. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (ILE) and U.S. Army Ranger School.
