Julie Busler to Speak During Women’s Missions and Ministry Day Chapel March 9
March 3, 2022
Julie Busler, Oklahoma president of Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), will speak during OBU’s Women’s Missions and Ministry Day chapel Wednesday, March 9. The service will take place at 10 a.m. in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium.
The University will host a special Women’s Missions and Ministry Day luncheon with Busler at 11 a.m. following the chapel service. The luncheon will be held in the Geiger Center on the OBU campus. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online through March 8 at 11:59 p.m. Seating is limited. [Update: The ticket purchase deadline was extended from its initial cut-off time at noon March 8 until midnight that evening.]
Busler currently serves as the Oklahoma president of WMU and is active in the women’s ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee. She and her husband Ryan have been married for 15 years and have four children. They have served overseas in Canada, Mexico, Germany and Turkey. She is passionate about the importance of missions and sharing the Gospel, as well as the importance of mental health, and she recently shared her testimony with female students at OBU in fall 2021 during a Courage and Connection event on campus. She understands the pain of mental illness and has learned that trials not only humanize us but increase our capacity to be used by God. She loves to use her experiences alongside Scripture to discuss and teach how to thrive in spite of mental illness and that joy and sorrow can coexist. Her book, “Joyful Sorrow: Breaking Through the Darkness of Mental Illness,” will release in June 2022 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
