'RAWC the World' Event to Celebrate World Cultures on OBU Campus April 29
April 15, 2021
OBU Campus Life invites all students, faculty, staff and their families to attend the upcoming “RAWC the World” event taking place Thursday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the OBU Intramural Fields. The event celebrates diversity and world cultures on the OBU campus.
“RAWC the World” aims to bring the entire campus community together to celebrate the different cultures from around the globe that are represented at OBU. Attendees should look forward to a time of celebration and activities which will help them develop a new appreciation for our diverse world.
The event will feature 21 different booths, led by our own students, faculty and staff, with activities at each stop from different world cultures. In all, 17 foreign countries will be represented, as well as four groups from the United States including the Black Student Association, Native American Student Association, Latin American Student Association and the Student Government Association.
Activities include dancing, archery, soccer, henna, cultural crafts and more. The two main exhibitions will be held at the center stage. Latin American dance instruction will take place at 6:30 p.m. followed by Zumba at 7:30 p.m. “RAWC the World” was held indoors last year for its inception but is taking place as an outdoor event this year for the safety and enjoyment of all who attend.
