Campus Activities Board to Host 'Freshman Follies' Sept. 19
September 17, 2020
OBU’s Campus Activities Board will present its annual “Freshman Follies” Saturday, Sept. 19. The show will take place on the south lawn of Raley Chapel beginning at 8:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Follie-ing Through the Decades.”
The show will be held outdoors to follow physical distancing guidelines, with the performances taking place on the south steps of Raley Chapel. Face coverings will be required of all in attendance. Guests are asked to bring their own seating for the event, whether a lawn chair or blanket. Family groups will be allowed to sit together but all others should maintain a minimum of six feet of physical distance in order to follow campus COVID-19 safety protocols.
Auditions for follies were held in person as well as through video submission. Performers include Jenna Brumley and Bethany Goepfrich; Emily Day, Jaylin Anders and Channing Hopkins; Timothy Michaux; and Jachin McDonald. Freshman participants will perform an act, song or whatever their talent may be from a designated decade.
Freshman Follies is a great way for news faces on Bison Hill to get involved and CAB members are excited to kick off the year with their first show. Follies is normally held inside Raley Chapel, so this will be a new experience for everyone.
“Ever since I attended my first Freshman Follies show for my brother in 2013, I knew I wanted to be a part of it when I chose to come to OBU,” said CAB co-chair Julia Jolly.
The show is free and open to the public.
