Martin Recognized as Outstanding Senior in Christian Ministry
May 15, 2020
Lauren Martin has been recognized as the 2019-20 Outstanding Senior in Christian Ministry by the Hobbs College of Theology and Ministry.
Awards for outstanding seniors in all Colleges and Divisions are typically presented during a special awards chapel at the conclusion of the spring semester. With the awards chapel event not being held this year due to the University’s move to distance learning, these students are instead being recognized through announcements via the University website and social media channels.
Dr. David Gambo, Reverend A. E. and Dora Johnson Hughes Chair of Christian Ministry and assistant professor of Christian ministry, is excited for Martin to receive this honor.
“Lauren Martin possesses good people skills along with her academic credentials,” Gambo said. “She is an excellent student and conscientious in her studies. She is articulate, has a keen mind and understands the importance of Christian and cross-cultural ministry as it relates to the context of the church. As a department, we are proud of her and extend our congratulations.”
Martin is graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in cross-cultural ministry and a minor in anthropology.
