April 28, 2020
OBU has hired Taylor Maples as the University’s director of admissions. He assumed the role April 20.
Maples earned an Associate of Arts in general studies at Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colorado. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. He then completed a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Colorado Christian University in Lakewood.
He gained experience in university student recruitment by working in the admissions office at Colorado Christian University as the campus visit coordinator from 2015 to 2018. Prior to coming to OBU, Maples worked as a marketing consultant and account executive at Tyler Media in Oklahoma City. He had previous experience as an outdoor media marketing consultant and account executive with iHeart Media in South Carolina.
Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Bruce Perkins is glad Maples has joined the admissions team.
“I am very excited to bring Taylor Maples on board. His experience in Christian higher education both as a student and as an employee in an admissions office has prepared him well for this role. He is a proven leader who is insightful, creative and courageous. These qualities will serve our university well as we navigate a new course coming out of the current environment.”
Maples is excited for the future as he begins working at OBU.
“I am excited to join OBU and serve as the director of admissions because I have experienced firsthand the transformation a private, Christian liberal Arts education offers, specifically regarding spiritual growth, community development and successful professional outcomes,” Maples said. “My college years were so critical to my understanding and development of my own faith, and I am eager to engage with families to help prospective students discern their calling. OBU is an incredible institution and I am grateful to lead a team dedicated to furthering their mission.”
