Dr. David Gambo Delivers Online Chapel Devotion April 22

April 22, 2020

Dr. David Gambo, Reverend A.E. and Dora Hughes Chair of Christian Ministry and assistant professor of Christian ministry, shared the online chapel message Wednesday, April 22. The service streamed on Facebook Live. The chapel message was the fifth since the University moved to fully online learning for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester.

Gambo joined the faculty of the Herschel H. Hobbs College of Theology and Ministry in 2018. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Jos in Nigeria. He later earned both a Master of Divinity in preaching and biblical languages as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in preaching and pastoral ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He has spent several years serving in Nigeria as both an instructor and minister. Before coming to Bison Hill, he served as associate pastor at the First African Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas; as the church planting resident at Omni Fellowship in Cedar Hill, Texas; and as an adjunct professor of homiletics at Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary. He has written multiple books.

Students will continue earning chapel credits for the remainder of the semester by watching the chapel message online and then answering a brief quiz in the University’s Canvas Learning System. Students who are unable to view the service via Facebook Live will also have access to the videos in Canvas after the live broadcast concludes. The messages will also be available on the OBU YouTube Channel on the OBU Chapel playlist.
