Amy Cordova Delivers Women’s Missions and Ministry Chapel Message March 11
March 11, 2020
Amy Cordova, the missions and women’s ministry partner for Oklahoma Baptists (formerly BGCO), spoke during OBU’s Women’s Missions and Ministry Chapel Wednesday, March 11. The service took place at 10 a.m. in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium.
Cordova spoke to students about how important it is to focus on the things above and avoid focusing on the things of the world. The passage she shared was from Colossians 3:1-17.
“In Christ there are no divisions, so set your mind on things above,” she said. “That means that you don’t have to live your old life anymore. You can put it aside and live the life that God has called you to live.”
Cordova wanted students to avoid letting their negative thoughts about themselves keep them from following God’s call on their lives.
“Your thought life matters,” she said. “You shouldn’t let your outside thoughts rule you but let the peace of Jesus rule you.”
Cordova serves Oklahoma Baptists as the missions and women’s ministry partner, where she encourages women in the local church to advance the Gospel. She previously served as the women’s ministry director at Quail Springs Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She holds a Master of Theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Amy’s husband, Rick, serves as pastor at Bright City on Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City. They have three children.
