OBU President Thomas Shares About University’s Impact at OKC Event Feb. 6

February 7, 2020

OBU President Dr. Heath Thomas shared about the impact OBU makes on its students during a recent event in Oklahoma City. He spoke with a group of alumni, friends and members of the Oklahoma City business community Feb. 6 during the Bison Connections luncheon. The event was held at Jasco Products. Dr. Hance Dilbeck, OBU alumnus and executive director-treasurer of Oklahoma Baptists, also spoke.

Thomas described how the University not only delivers a world-class education to its students, but how it also teaches them to fear God and keep His commands.

“We hope that they [students] go on a journey of discovery that helps them understand and remember how to fear God and keep His commands no matter what they’re doing,” whether as a nurse, business person, professional, teacher, scientist, doctor, lawyer, health professional, or minister.

“We equip students to go and make a difference for God. This means that as OBU personnel, we are invested in equipping students for lifelong success and with the tools they need to go make a difference for God.”

He reminded the audience that students not only receive a rigorous academic experience at OBU, but they also are changed for the better and prepared to make a positive impact on the world.

“Lives are changed at OBU. So, if you think about sending your students or if you think about investing in something like OBU, you’re not just partnering in students getting an education. What you’re partnering in is life transformation.”
