High School Seniors Invited to OBU’s Fine Arts Main Event Feb. 17
February 10, 2020
The Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts invites all high school seniors to attend the annual Fine Arts Main Event (FAME) Monday, Feb. 17, on the OBU Campus in Shawnee.
FAME is an opportunity for high school seniors to experience the opportunities provided by the College of Fine Arts and, if they choose, to demonstrate their own skills for scholarship consideration. The event is free, though registration is required.
Throughout the day, students are given the opportunity to meet potential classmates as well as current OBU students, faculty, and staff, including admissions counselors. Participating students will learn about programs of study in the College of Fine Arts, performance opportunities and the admission process.
Students will see firsthand what the art, theatre and music students at OBU are creating and performing. Students will also receive a tour of the College of Fine Arts facilities, including the chance to observe fine arts classes and rehearsals. In addition, the participants will be provided a complimentary lunch on campus, with auditions and portfolio reviews taking place for talent-based financial aid.
FAME is free of charge; however, the College of Fine Arts asks that potential future Bison register for the event online. Students are also encouraged to arrive Sunday night to attend the annual Concerto-Aria Concert, featuring student soloists accompanied by full orchestra. The concert will be held in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
