Caleb Cole Senior Art and Design Exhibit Running Through March 7
March 1, 2019
Caleb Cole, senior graphic design major from Norman, Oklahoma, is currently displaying his senior art show through March 7. The exhibit is displayed in OBU’s Art Building and is a culmination of Cole’s work in art and design from his four years as a student.
Cole draws inspiration from numerous designers who have blazed the trail before him.
“Paul Rand, Saul Bass and Aaron Draplin are design professionals that have greatly influenced my work,” he said. “Also, Corey Fuller [associate professor of graphic design and chair of the Division of Art and Design] has greatly influenced my work process.”
He attributes his current level of skill and production in design to his training at OBU.
“The OBU art program gave me a wide understanding of the industry of art and design and that helped me define the specific area of design I wanted to specialize in,” he said. “The professors in the art department have been champions. They have encouraged, guided and challenged me to be a good artist, designer and individual. I wouldn’t have had the success I’ve had without them.”
In the exhibit, Cole chose prints, serigraphy, product photography, ceramic, package mock-ups, painting and drawings as his media of work. Following his graduation in May, he will be working as a graphic designer in Oklahoma City.
