Jassey Speaks at OBU Business Forum Oct. 15

October 15, 2018

Oklahoma Baptist University hosted Mark Jassey for the Fall Business Forum Monday, Oct. 15. The event took place in Bailey Business Center’s Tulsa Royalties Auditorium. Jassey is a 2006 OBU alumnus who is now the chief operating officer at 180 Medical and the vice president of integration for ConvaTec Home Distribution.

Jassey began the forum by sharing his about his life, coming to OBU, his time at the university and his time since graduation. He shared with the students about the challenges he faced during his job search, but encouraged them to remain diligent in the process. Following his first job with another organization, he then interviewed for a position at 180 Medical, where he remains to this day.

Jassey stressed the importance of being a good leader and taking care of your team.

“You can never do anything alone,” he said. “You need people to walk beside you. You need to be a good leader and look out for other people’s needs.”

He also discussed the importance of letting the public know why you do what you do within your organization. In order to do that, one must know the company and its purpose to communicate that well to the public.

“Every organization knows what they do, he said. “Very few know how they do it, and even fewer know why they do it.”

An active volunteer, Jassey’s devotion to serving others extends to the Oklahoma City community, where he contributes to multiple non-profit organizations. Most recently, he’s served on the board of directors for Sharing Tree, a metro-area nonprofit that serves families in need by providing a dignified shopping experience at no cost. Jassey is also a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City’s LOYAL program.
