October 1, 2018
Dr. Ed Newton, lead pastor of Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas, will speak during OBU’s chapel service Oct. 3. The service will take place at 10 a.m. in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium on OBU’s campus in Shawnee.
Newton earned a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries from Clearwater Christian College, a Master in Religious Education from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry in Pulpit Communication from Trinity Theological Seminary.
He is an author, speaker and leader with an intentional burden to speak into the capital “C” church toward revival, leadership, missional living and especially for the “next” generation to become a “now” generation. He has been a frequent speaker at many youth camps, including Falls Creek in Oklahoma.
He and his wife, Stephanie, have four children, London, Lola, Liv and Lawson. Together they seek to lead a generation of people to hear God’s voice and respond in extreme faith in obedience.
