Guest Recital to Feature Marc Webster Feb. 15

Oklahoma Baptist University’s Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts will welcome Marc Webster, bass, to present a guest vocal recital on Bison Hill. The performance will take place Thursday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel’s Yarborough Auditorium. The community is invited to attend the free performance, which will include Dr. Louima Lilite, associate professor of music, on the piano.
The recital will open with a performance of “Quoniam” from “Messa di Gloria” by Gioachino Rossini. It will be followed by “I Canti della Sera” by Francesco Santoliquido and “Michelangelo Lieder” by Hugo Wolf.
Webster will then perform “Chanson de Don Quichotte” by Jacques Francois Antoine Marie Ibert. The recital will conclude with a presentation of “Just Another Rhumba” from “The Goldwyn Follies” by George Gershwin.
Webster has performed over 40 roles in opera and oratorio with companies and apprentice studios throughout the United States. An active recitalist, he has recently performed with the New York Festival of Song with Stephen Blier, and “The Song Continues” series at Weill Recital Hall. Webster holds an artist diploma from the Julliard Opera Center at the Julliard School, a master’s degree in performance and literature from Eastman School of Music and is near completion of a Doctor of Musical Arts from Eastman School of Music.
Prior to his appointment at OBU, Dr. Louima Lilite was a member of the voice faculty at Houghton College, Nazareth College, and a TA at the Eastman School of Music. He has taught, lectured and coached throughout the United States and overseas in private lessons, master classes, seminars and summer workshops. Lilite is the coordinator of the annual North Haiti Music Camp in Limbé, Haiti. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance in voice and piano from Biola University Conservatory of Music, a master’s degree in voice performance and pedagogy from Pennsylvania State University and doctorate in voice performance and literature from Eastman School of Music.
