Ziafat Delivers Chapel Message on Submitting to Christ
November 1, 2017
Afshin Ziafat, lead pastor of Providence Church in Frisco, Texas, delivered the chapel message Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Oklahoma Baptist University. His message continued the chapel series, “Following Jesus: Understanding and Responding to the Call of Christ.”
Ziafat used 1 Thessalonians 1:4-10 to illustrate the importance of completely submitting one’s life to Christ.
“I know you have the gospel when your aim in life is not to just extend your days by any means possible, but when your aim in life is to spend every day God grants you to be on this mission and to make sure others know Jesus,” he said.
Before becoming lead pastor at Providence Church, he spent more than a decade evangelizing around the globe. He is a partner of Elam Ministries, an organization working to strengthen and expand the church in the Middle East, and works with them to train Iranian pastors. He also helped launch Vertical Bible Study at Baylor University. Ziafat and his wife, Meredith, reside in Frisco, Texas, along with their daughters, Elyse and Ansley.
