Public Invited to OBU Fine Arts Showcase Oct. 27

Oklahoma Baptist University’s Fine Arts Showcase will take place Friday, Oct. 27, at 8:30 p.m., in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium on OBU’s campus. The Showcase is free and open to the public. The event takes place as part of the University’s 2017 Homecoming weekend.
The Showcase will begin with a performance by the Bison Brigade of “Mambo” from West Side Story, followed by a welcome from Chris Mathews, dean of the Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts.
The cast of the Addams Family Musical will then perform “When You’re an Addams,” and the Alumni Ringers will follow with both a medley from “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Les Miserables” followed by “Serenade for a Picket Fence.” Bison Glee Club will follow the Ringers with their performance of “Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
The Bison Jazz Orchestra will perform “Move Your Rug,” before True Voice sings “Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye.” The University Chorale will then perform “Jubilate Deo.”
The Alumni Ringers will then perform “Creation will be at Peace” and “My Jesus, I Love Thee.” The Bisonettes will follow with a rendition of “Amazing Grace.”
The Bison Brigade will lead out in the congregational song, “Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine.” The Showcase will then conclude with the OBU Alma mater followed by a performance of “Route 66 Road Trip” by the Bison Brigade.
