OBU Crowns 2017 Harvest Court During Homecoming Game

OBU announced winners of the 2017 harvest court Saturday, Oct. 28, during halftime of the Bison football game versus Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The event was part of OBU’s homecoming celebration happening on campus throughout the weekend.
Senior students were nominated by their peers in six different categories: harvest queen, harvest king, best all-around woman, best all-around man, most servant-like woman and most servant-like man. The student body voted Tuesday, Oct. 24, to select winners in each category.
The 2017 harvest queen is Lyndsey Kalinowski, secondary English education major from Bentonville, Arkansas. The 2017 harvest king is Jordan Anderson, secondary science education major from Altus, Oklahoma.
The 2017 best all-around woman is Breanna Hurlbut, health and human performance-clinical major from Morgan, Utah. The 2017 best all-around man is Tyre Terry, exercise science major from Oklahoma City.
The 2017 most servant-like woman is Olivia Curry, nursing major from Olathe, Kansas. The 2017 most servant-like man is Blaine Coffee, biblical studies major from Oklahoma City.
OBU has a long-standing tradition of crowning the harvest queen, with the first queen being crowned in 1920. The tradition of crowning a harvest king was added in 1996. The categories of most servant-like and best all-around have since been added, rounding out the six-member harvest court.
Harvest queen finalists included Lauren Buffington, Bible major from Frisco, Texas, and Erica Jo Watkins, marketing major from Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Finalists for harvest king included Hunter Doucette, political science major from Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Connelly Rader, marketing major from Elk City, Oklahoma.
Candidates for best all-around woman included Haylee Lynn Belcher, double major in cross-cultural ministry and communication studies from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Jamie Knox, family and community services major from Temple, Texas.
Finalists for best all-around man included Jared Fink, nursing major from Dewey, Oklahoma, and Blaine Whitson, nursing major from Enid, Oklahoma.
Finalists for most servant-like woman included Rebekah McPheeters, communication studies major from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Morgan Williams, family and community service major from Forney, Texas.
Most servant-like man finalists included Trevor Guleserian, business management major from McKinney, Texas, and A.J. Lopez, religion major from Tulsa.
