Kelly Delivers OBU Chapel Message Oct. 12
October 12, 2016
Dr. Bobby Kelly, the Ruth Dickinson Professor of Religion, delivered the chapel message at Oklahoma Baptist University Wednesday, Oct. 12. His message was from 2 Corinthians 12. It continued the fall chapel series theme of “Prayer: Beseeching the Lord through the Prayers of the New Testament.”
“Pray for the big things,” Kelly said. “Pray for the small things. Pray knowing that God loves you. And if He says yes, it’s because He loves you, and if He says no, it’s because He loves you. Pray.”
Kelly joined the OBU faculty in 1997. In 2000, he was named the Rowena Strickland Professor of Bible, and in 2004, he was named the Ruth Dickinson Chair of Bible. He received his Ph.D. in New Testament Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas in 1998, where he also served as a teaching fellow for three years. He also received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary in 1992 and his bachelor’s degree from Clear Creek Baptist College in Pineville, Kentucky in 1988.
