October 28, 2016
Boeing executive Jimmy Rollen delivered a lecture Friday, Oct. 28, at Oklahoma Baptist University. Rollen works in Oklahoma City as director of engineering and chief engineer for aircraft modernization and sustainment. He leads a global team of engineers that provide cutting-edge modernization upgrades and maintenance to a variety of military and commercial products including bombers, tankers, transport, cargo and surveillance aircraft.
Rollen spoke to students about his job and some of the projects he has been part of, including program manager for Air Force One. He said his favorite part of the job is seeing people work together to solve problems.
“You never know how close to home it is on the products you design,” Rollen said. “The products we design have brought our own employees’ sons home safe. We do what we do for all of you so you can be free.”
Rollen’s experience includes engineering leadership, program management, and site operations positions on a broad range of space and defense programs, including the Ground Mobile Radio Program, Ground Based Interceptor Program, Delta Systems Engineering Systems Automation, and the Delta Program.
