Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, a band from Nashville, Tennessee, is coming to Oklahoma Baptist University for a Friday evening concert Oct. 14 in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the concert set to begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are now available online for $15.
For Nashville based, Memphis born Drew Holcomb, “music is medicine.” Along with his band The Neighbors, including Nathan Dugger on guitar and keys, as well as Rich Brinsfield on bass, the group celebrated a decade long career with the release of their new full-length studio album “Medicine” on Jan. 27 via his own imprint “Magnolia Music.” Recorded over nine days at Joe Pisapia’s Middletree Studios in East Nashville, the twelve song album was co-produced by Pisapia (Ben Folds, KD Lang, Guster, Josh Rouse) and the band and tackles issues of everyday life including loyalty, hardship, marriage, friendship, alienation and faith.
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors have played almost 2,000 concert dates in 7 countries, and have performed in many festivals, including Bonnaroo, Hangout Music Fest, Forecastle, Voodoo Experience and more. Their songs have received 40 TV placements, including “How I Met Your Mother,” “Criminal Minds,” “Parenthood,” “Nashville,” “HOUSE,” “Justified,” “About A Boy” and many more.
