OBU Offers Donors Final Chance to Autograph Raley Chapel Roof Tiles June 25
June 10, 2016
Raley Chapel, an iconic symbol of Oklahoma Baptist University, is getting a new roof this summer. The original roof, which has served its purpose since 1961, is being replaced, and the University is offering one last chance to autograph roof tiles before they are placed on the chapel.
As part of the campaign to “Revive the Roof” on Raley Chapel, donors have a unique opportunity to personally autograph tiles. A special event will be held on campus Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to noon which allows those who have already donated, and those who would still like to contribute, to sign tiles before they are placed on the roof. Patrons may park by Cargill Advancement and Alumni Center on the north side of MacArthur, or in the Taylor Residence Center lot, just west of Cargill. The tiles and OBU personnel will be located on the Cargill lawn.
All donors who have given at least $20 but have not had the opportunity to sign a tile are invited to come and leave their mark on Raley Chapel. All others wishing to support the project may give that day in person, via cash, check or credit card. A $20 gift helps purchase one of 42,000 tiles needed to complete the project. A $100 gift will help pay for five tiles while a $1,000 gift will pay for 50 tiles.
Donors who give $100 or more will receive a commemorative ornament of Raley Chapel. With a $500 gift, they will receive a framed print of the chapel. Gifts of $1,000 or more will receive a recognition brick, laid in an area east of the chapel, with the donor's name or an "in honor or memory of" dedication. A replica brick may be purchased for an additional $50.
Your gift matters and will impact students today and for generations to come. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, community members and friends of the University can still leave their mark and support the Revive the Roof campaign.
