OBU Enrolls Record Number of New Students at Priority Enrollment Day
May 3, 2016
OBU welcomed 368 new members to the Bison Hill family Saturday, April 30, during a record breaking Priority Enrollment Day on OBU’s campus in Shawnee.
Students and parents chose either a morning or afternoon session. During those half-day sessions, new students became acquainted with campus and all the academic, spiritual and social facets it has to offer.
Students met with their academic advisors, finalized their fall class schedules and received their student ID cards. Parents and guardians participated in breakout sessions. Then, OBU students officially welcomed new enrollees by cheering them on.
“Priority Enrollment Day is one of my favorite days of the year,” said Will Brantley, director of admissions. “In the admissions office, we work all year to help prospective students find their place at OBU, and on Priority Enrollment Day, we get to see the fruit of our labor.”
“Seeing our new students meet their future classmates, interact with our faculty and staff, enroll in classes and celebrate with our current students brings so much energy and excitement to campus,” Brantley said. “Our admissions team is the finest in the country and they give so much of themselves in their work with our students. We can't wait for all the other future Bison to enroll through our other enrollment events and then to see what God does in their lives through their time on Bison Hill. We thank God for His continued blessing of OBU.”
