Oklahoma Churches to Celebrate OBU Day Feb. 28 and March 6
February 16, 2016
OBU is calling on all Southern Baptist churches around the state of Oklahoma to join together and celebrate “OBU Day in the Churches” Feb. 28 and March 6, 2016.
The Christian education that OBU provides to so many students is helping train the next generation to lead the world for Christ. The University is asking local churches to partner with them and help spread the word about OBU, encouraging college bound students to consider a life changing education on Bison Hill and other members to consider how they might support the vital mission of the University.
Churches are encouraged to participate in OBU Day by showing a brief three minute OBU video during the morning worship service; by printing OBU information in the morning worship bulletin, with several options to choose from; and / or by providing a two to three minute testimony about OBU from a member of the church. This member may have attended or graduated from OBU, served or currently serving as a member of the University’s board of trustees, have a son or daughter who attended or currently attends OBU, or have a wonderful memory of a current or past faculty member or administrator.
These volunteers are asked to share their story with the church for the purpose of raising awareness of the positive work OBU is doing for the kingdom of God, raising awareness of the strong academic work done by Oklahoma Baptist University, and raising awareness that Oklahoma Baptists founded OBU to “educate their youth.”
Churches that are unable to locate someone to give an “OBU Day in the Churches” testimony are encouraged to register, to share the video, and to place a printed version of the OBU information inside the worship bulletin. For the first 100 churches who register and make a request, the university will provide someone to share an OBU testimony at their church.
Visit www.okbu.edu/theology/obu-day-in-the-churches to register. Upon completion, registrants will receive an e-mail with links to the video and the bulletin print material options.
