OBU’s Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts Concert Series will host the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Jazz Faculty in concert Tuesday evening, Feb. 9. The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel’s Yarborough Auditorium. The public is invited and admission is free. The group will lead a masterclass on improvisation at 4:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel’s band hall, preceding the evening performance.
The band is led by Quamon Fowler on saxophones and electric wind instruments. Other members of the group include Tom Burchill, guitar; Fredrick Sanders, piano; Young Heo, bass; and Terence Hobdy, drums.
“In addition to being first-call jazz musicians and furthering the art form, these guys are dedicated Christians who walk the walk and are a real inspiration for our students,” says Justin Pierce, assistant professor in instrumental music.
