OBU Celebrates Diversity Week Nov. 9-13

OBU is hosting “In Living Color” Nov. 9-13, a week celebrating the diversity of its student body, staff and faculty. Diversity Week is sponsored on campus by the United Students of Color.
Students were encouraged to attend a church different from their usual Sunday service, ahead of the start of Diversity Week.
Monday, students are invited to attend a cultural fair hosted in the downstairs GC. The fair will allow students to share aspects of their culture with other members of the OBU community. The fair begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 2 p.m.
Tuesday, there will be a “Family Bonding” night where students are encouraged to attend the 5 p.m. showing of “Woodlawn” at the Carmike Cinema Centre 8. Everyone is then invited to go to Buffalo Wild Wings at 7:30 for dinner and discussion.
Wednesday evening, students can participate in Zumba, a Colombian dance program designed with fitness in mind. The event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in the downstairs GC.
Thursday will feature a forum titled “Diversity in the Modern Church.” The forum will begin at 4 p.m. and last around an hour, with time for audience posed questions and comments. It will take place in the Tulsa Royalties Auditorium located inside Bailey Business Center.
Friday afternoon, students can make their way to Montgomery Hall for the “Global Tea.” It will begin at 2 p.m. and last until 3:30. Later, Intramural Sports will hold a three on three basketball tournament beginning at 7 p.m.
