The Bison Stampede 10k-5k-Fun Run Slated for Nov. 7
October 15, 2015
OBU students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the community still have time to register for the Fourth Annual Bison Stampede. The event takes place Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 a.m. on the campus of OBU in Shawnee during homecoming festivities. Proceeds benefit OBU students, faculty, and staff involved in Global Outreach Trips this school year and next summer.
This sanctioned and certified event features a 10k, 5k and One Mile Fun Run/Walk. Participants may register for the Bison Stampede now through Nov. 6. Cost for the One Mile Fun Run/Walk is $20, the 5K is $30 and the 10K is $40. Registration includes a race t-shirt, and 5K and 10K participants will also receive finisher medals.
Event packet pick-up, including the race day bib, will be held at the Recreation and Wellness Center (RAWC) on the OBU campus Friday, Nov. 6, from 2-8 p.m. Race Day registration and packet pickup will begin Saturday, Nov. 7, at 6:15 a.m., also at the RAWC. Runners may still register the morning of the race, but t-shirts will not be guaranteed at that time.
Global Outreach trips are coordinated by the Avery T. Willis Center for Global Outreach, which seeks to partner with students, faculty and staff to engage a diverse world. The center provides opportunities for students to reach out to people in Shawnee, Oklahoma City, the United States, and all around the globe. Through global and local outreach, their global perspective will be challenged through the integration of faith and education.
