OBU Hosts Week of Global Outreach Awareness
August 28, 2015
OBU will host its annual Global Outreach (GO) Week Aug. 31 through Sept. 4. The week focuses completely on missions, with activities ranging from special GO Chapels to a GO fair. Students will have the opportunity to learn about missions all over the globe and how they, too, can make an impact.
Go Week kicks off Monday with a chapel led by Blake Kimbrough, whose family lives in Zambia. From 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Montgomery Hall, students will have the chance to listen to some of their own fellow students talk about how they served through various trips, camps and churches this summer.
Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., students can attend the GO Fair in the lower GC where they will learn of opportunities on how they can get involved in GO activities.
The International Culture Night will be held in the upstairs GC Tuesday at 8 p.m., and during Wednesday chapel time, students will hear from Dr. Tom Elliff, former president of the IMB.
The last GO Chapel of the week will take place Friday. Following chapel, students can attend the first noonday of the semester at noon in Montgomery Hall.
Students are encouraged to participate in Prayer Walks in the GC throughout the week and to take part in the Prayer for the Nations, which will gather every evening at 10 p.m. in the GC prayer room.
