Eight Seniors Win Athletics Awards

OBU recently recognized its exceptional students during OBU's 2015 Awards Convocation Wednesday, May 6. Eight seniors were awarded athletics awards during the event.
OBU Director of Athletics Robert Davenport presented the Outstanding Senior Male and Female Athlete awards. The Outstanding Senior Male and Female Athlete Awards are given each year to student athletes who have had exceptional careers at Oklahoma Baptist University.
Daniel Ramirez, OBU senior, was named Outstanding Senior Male Athlete.
Hannah Fields, mathematics major from Edmond, Oklahoma, was named the Outstanding Senior Female Athlete.
OBU Professor of History Dr. Carol Humphrey presented the Presidential Scholar / Athlete Awards. The Presidential Scholar / Athlete Award is given each year to the senior male and female athletes with the highest cumulative GPA. This year, there was a five-way tie for female athletes.
Female recipients of the Presidential Scholar / Athlete Award included: Allie Preston, a biology major from Abilene, Texas; Johanna Kleinsasser, an English education major from Lees Summit, Missouri; Chelsea Abinah, a psychology major from Edmond, Oklahoma; Morgan Marshall, an elementary education major from Fort Collins, Colorado; and Halie Herbert, a math education major from Perryton, Texas.
Caleb Walters was the male recipient of the Presidential Scholar / Athlete Award.
Graduating seniors will participate in Spring Commencement Friday, May 15, in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium.
