College of Humanities and Social Sciences Recognizes Outstanding Students

OBU's College of Humanities and Social Sciences recently recognized its exceptional students during OBU's 2015 Awards ConvocationWednesday, May 6.
Dr. Pam Robinson, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, presented four outstanding senior awards to students.
Katie Giza, a senior family and community service major from Yukon, Oklahoma, received the Outstanding Senior in the Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences Award. She will graduate with the designation summa cum laude.
Katherine Newsome, a junior English major from Shawnee, Oklahoma, received the Outstanding Senior in the Division of Language and Literature Award.
Hannah Karr, a senior exercise and sports science: pre-allied health major from Larkspur, Colorado, received the Outstanding Senior in the Division of Kineseology and Leisure Studies Award. She will graduate with the designation summa cum laude.
Brittni Smith, a senior early childhood / elementary education major from Oklahoma City, received the Outstanding Senior in the Division of Teacher Education Award. She will graduate with the designation cum laude.
Graduating seniors will participate in Spring Commencement Friday, May 15, in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium. Students graduate with the designation summa cum laude for maintaining at least a 3.95 grade-point average. Students who maintained at least at 3.70 GPA are designated magna cum laude. Students who maintained at least a 3.40 GPA are designated cum laude.
