Mathena to Speak at Chapel April 22
April 20, 2015
Harold Mathena, founder of Mathena, Inc, will present the April 22 chapel address at OBU. The service will begin at 10 a.m. in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium.
Born in Bogata, Texas, in 1935, Mathena began a career in oil at a rig in east Texas after establishing a philosophy of hard work and a drive for quality in the Texas cotton fields. He married Patricia King in 1953 and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. After working for 20 years with the Salt Water Control Company, he developed a firsthand knowledge and deep expertise within the fields of solids and pressure control. Mathena used this expertise to establish his own businesses, Omega Equipment Company in 1978 and Mathena Oilfield Equipment in 1990.
He is also the founder of Back to Basics Revival Crusade. He has been used mightily by God as a pastor, evangelist, conference speaker, missionary and church planter. He served as both vice-president and president of the Oklahoma State Evangelists.
The common thread throughout all of Harold and Patricia's life experiences has been the hand of God on their life. They have always given God the credit and glory for any and all successes or challenges they have faced. Their strong belief in God and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ has been and continues to be their sole success factor in life.
This past May, the Mathena family provided the funding to build a freestanding sports medicine and training facility inside the Eddie Hurt Athletic Complex on OBU's campus.
