Students to Present Honors Thesis Projects
March 27, 2015
Seven OBU students will present their senior honors thesis projects this spring. Each presentation will last approximately one hour, in which the students will share the results of their study with the university community and respond to questions from those in attendance. The presentations will take place on OBU's campus and the public is invited to attend the free events.
The students are all seniors and members of OBU's Honors Program. Collectively, they represent an important commitment of the OBU community toward careful scholarship and excellent writing.
"A senior thesis represents the traditional capstone of the Honors Program," said Dr. Tawa Anderson, assistant professor of philosophy and director of the OBU Honors Program. "A Thesis project is the culmination of an intensive faculty-guided year of research in a specific field of study. Honors theses pass a rigorous examination from a committee and satisfy an outside reader who is an expert in the field. As such, these works are some of the best scholarship to come out of OBU each year."
Tyler Martin, an anthropology major from Sand Springs, Oklahoma, will present his project, "The Use of the Participle in Johannine Literature," Wednesday, April 1, at 4 p.m. in Bailey Business Center's Tulsa Royalties Auditorium.

"The OBU Honors Program provides an enhanced and life-changing undergraduate educational experience," Anderson said. "It is designed to supplement students' courses of study, provide more opportunities to ask questions, pursue particular topics and apply what they have learned in new and creative ways. The Honors Program at OBU is comprised of capable and inquisitive students and faculty dedicated to taking education beyond its traditional boundaries. Our constant goal is to love God with our minds by employing the intellectual gifts He has blessed us with to better understand and more faithfully serve Him and His world."
