Bisonette Women's Glee Club Announces Spring Performances

The Bisonettes, OBU's Women's Glee Club, will perform in several venues across Oklahoma in upcoming months. Their spring performances will cap the 60th anniversary year of the group.
The group will kick off their travels Sunday, Feb. 22. They will perform during the worship service at View Acres Baptist Church, 2327 S. 65 W. Ave., in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 10:40 a.m., and visitors are invited to join in worship. For more information, call the church at (918) 446-5343.
The next day, Feb. 23, the group will perform at Collinsville High School at 9:40 a.m. and Inola High School in the afternoon. Potential visitors are encouraged to visit each school's website in order to contact the school about access to the concerts.
On March 29, the Bisonettes will perform at First Baptist Church in Chandler, Oklahoma. FBC Chandler is located at 912 West First Street in Chandler. For more information, call (405) 258-0175.
March 30, the group will perform at two school venues. The group will perform at Crossings Christian School beginning at 8 a.m. and at Southwest Covenant High School in Yukon, Oklahoma, later in the day. Again, potential visitors are encouraged to visit each school's website in order to gain more information about access to the concerts.
The Bisonettes will travel to Blackwell, Oklahoma, Sunday, April 19, to worship with Immanuel Baptist Church, located at 1600 South 13th street. The service begins at 10:15 a.m. and is open to visitors. Call (580) 363-5058 for more information.
Their final concert of the spring semester will take place Saturday, May 2, in Yarborough Auditorium, located inside Raley Chapel on OBU's campus in Shawnee. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to the free concert.
The accompanist for the Bisonette Glee Club is Megan Mattke, junior piano major from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The group is directed by Dr. James Vernon, professor of music. The 63-member group boasts students from Washington state, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Texas and Oklahoma. They are dedicated to singing outstanding women's sacred and secular music, concentrating on newer works and those with unique sounds. Membership in the group is by audition.
