Freshmen have the chance to show off their talents Saturday, Oct. 25, at OBU's annual talent and variety show, "Freshman Follies." The 'Game Show' themed Follies, directed by senior Campus Activities Board members Thomas and Benjamin Whitmore, will begin at 8 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium on the OBU campus in Shawnee. Admission is free.
"This year, Freshman Follies has a great variety of talent and entertainment from the freshman class," Thomas said. "Everyone is sure to enjoy the game show atmosphere and excitement."
The show will include acts by Tri-Petals, M3, Desolation, Dillon's Angels, DJ 2 Bowls and Mumford's Second Cousins. Will Engle, Paden Rogers, Samuel Melton, Braygan Lippencott, Hunter Sanders and German Cabrero will emcee the show.
"Being a director has been more of a comprehensive approach to a CAB show than any other aspect of a show I've been a part of in the past," Benjamin said. "It's really starting to come together and we are very excited for the finished product."
The weekend of Oct. 24-25 is Family Weekend on the OBU campus, and includes other events surrounding the Freshman Follies performance. Following the cook-off, there will be a Family Fun Night beginning at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the Geiger Center (GC), sponsored by Student Government Association.
