May 6, 2014
Senior business students from OBU scored in the 94th percentile on the Educational Testing Service's Major Field Test. Twenty-one students took the exam Tuesday, April 29.
ETS, a nonprofit testing organization, describes the MFT as a "comprehensive undergraduate and MBA outcomes assessment designed to measure the critical knowledge and understanding obtained by students in a major field of study."
The OBU students' results were first individually scored. Once this process was complete, ETS compiled the individual scores from each school and averaged them to determine a mean result.
OBU seniors scored an average of 162 out of 200 on the MFT. The mean score of the students from Bison Hill landed them in the top 6 percent of the 370 schools taking the exam nationally.
Other Oklahoma universities taking the exam included the University of Oklahoma, the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Oral Roberts University, Rogers State University, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Southern Nazarene University, Cameron University and Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
