OBU to Host 'The Greatest Show on Earth' April 12
April 4, 2014
OBU will host an evening of fun and entertainment as they present this year's Spring Affair production, "The Greatest Show on Earth." The event will take place on Saturday, April 12, at 8 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the free performance. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend.
OBU's Campus Activities Board (CAB) stages Spring Affair annually. The 2014 production's directors, OBU seniors Aaron Fullbright and Charity Jernigan, selected a circus theme to carry throughout the show - from the decorations and skits to the stage band songs and more. Fullbright is an applied ministry major from Sallisaw, Okla., and Jernigan is a communication studies major from Boynton, Okla.
While the theme of this show is different than year's past, there is familiarity for those who have attended a past CAB production. The show will feature eight acts, including individual instrumentalists with vocals, larger bands and more.
The show also will include emcee skit acts, providing audiences with insight into OBU students' creativity. Emcees for the show include Hayden Burnett, Justin Doherty, Hannah Helbig, Paul Inman, Blake Randolph, Meg Reeder and Truett Ross.
CAB sponsors three major talent and variety shows each academic year: Biggie, Freshmen Follies and Spring Affair. Biggie is reserved for upperclassmen presenters; Freshmen Follies showcases freshmen talent; and Spring Affair is open to all students. Acts and emcees must audition to be a part of each show.
